So what is Window Racer The video looks great and looks like what I need but I have a ton of questions......No problem at all we are here to answer all of them!
Here are some of the most common questions that we have been asked:
Q: How hard is it to install How long does it take to install the Window Racer
A: It will take you longer to get some tools together and to access your fuse box. Usually a flat head screw driver 7mm sockets etc. You are accessing the cover of the fuse box.
You simply find the 30 amp circuit breaker in your fuse box marked for your "Power Windows." You remove your current 30 amp circuit breaker from the "Power Window" and install into Window Racer plug end the same way you removed the circuit breaker. We even designed the plug to look just like the circuit breaker you are removing. The circuit breaker opening is beside the Red LED light. You will see the opening shaped the way the circuit breaker must install.
You then plug the Window Racer in where your circuit breaker was.
Then you take a screw #10 or smaller and ground the black wire to any suitable ground. Make sure the ground is clean. With the key turned forward, the red light will come on to let you know the unit is working. If the light does not come on verify a good ground and that your key is turned to the accessory position.
Q:How do I know if it is working I plugged it in but my dead window still isnt workingwhy
A: Window Racer does not fix bad wiring, a bad motor, or switch. Make sure at least 1 window was working so you know the circuit breaker is good. When the you hit the window switch the green light comes on. You know that the circuit is completed and working, the motor is good and the circuit breaker is fine. The window is now going faster than ever. We will get to trouble shooting in a bit.
Q: How many Window Racers do I need for my vehicle
A: Just 1. It works all the windows and your factory power moon roof if you have that option.
Q: My power moon roof
A: Yes it will make your factory moon roof fly back and forth just like your windows.
Q: Can I operate all the windows and the moon roof at the same time
A: Yes if you look at the video on www.windowracer.com the driver or passenger or both are operating at the same speed. It is not faster if you operate only one window.
Q: Can Window Racer burn up my wiring Will it cause damage to my switches What about the motor, it has to be hurting the motor right
A: No we would not build anything to hurt your vehicle. Actually what it does takes less amps to operate the motors than it did from the factory. The amp load is what generally causes your switches and motors to die. You know this if you have or had a weak motor. Your switch went bad and you replaced this because it was easier than replacing the motor.
Q: Will it make a bad motor run like new
A: During our testing we have seen motors that allow the window to go down but not go back up. When Window Racer was installed it actually allowed the window to go back up. Of course not as fast as a good motor.
Q: What if I am out and for some reason the Window Racer would go bad Am I stuck with my windows up or down
A: No the unit has an internal protection because we always know there will be that one person with two bad motors who doesn't want to change them and will eventually kill the internal protection. If for some reason the unit fails, the circuit breaker allows the vehicle to go back to your slow factory operation like normal.
Q: Ok I am not that one person. I want my windows to be just like my new vehicle. What can I do to optimize the operations
A: We are geared for the "CAR GUY". We had a few delays and additional costs due to there being upgraded internal components that were recently released. We realize your vehicle is over 20 years old. For optimal operation we suggest "rebuilt" not new aftermarket *Cardone Window motors. (yes we do carry these very reasonable). They are rewound OEM GM units that are faster then even New GM motors. We tested this and spoke to others who stated the same thing as we have found.
We also suggest you check your window rollers on your track. We actually reproduced a far superior set that allows the grease to get inside the window rollers. The other after market are so tight they tend to "slide" rather then "role". We have found some that had flat spots on them when upgrading.
*Anti rattle kits are available through us also. This replace a lot of the worn out components in your door.
Q: What does the Window Racer cost It seems kind of pricey
A: $149.95 plus shipping. We ship world wide. We went through a lot to bring this product to market. We knew we had to find a sweet spot. We ended up building 5000 pieces for our initial run and guaranteed the purchase of 10,000 units the first year. This gave us the ability to get the best product with the best components at a reasonable price. If you have one bad motor you are looking at $49.95 and shipping for a window motor. Then the cost of installation. Even if you are a "do it yourself" kind of person, you still have an hour plus involved in installing a new window motor that is slow.
Q: How long is the warranty
A: We are giving a 1 year warranty. Even after that we can walk you through if you have a problem to trouble shoot. The LED lights help so we can do this through e-mail to make it quick and easy. If you have a bad switch, wiring or a motor we can help. We have always been here before the sale, during, and after the sale. If you have a problem 10 years from now we can have you mail it back and we can test the product and repair.
Q: Where can I get one
A: GBodyParts.com is carrying these for the GBody's. We have many wholesale companies who are carrying these now and the list grows daily.
Q: What vehicles do these fit GM GBODY only
A: No. Although we are GBodyParts.com, we know this works on many vehicles. We are getting a list together but as far as GM we know it works on many. We will eventually have a complete list. This will be on the bottom of the page. If you have a vehicle and would like to know if it works please contact us. If you are in our area you can stop on by and we will test and install. If it works and you are happy with the product you will get a free installation. Some older vehicles we will have change the plug design for the best fitment.
Q: I like it but do not really want to install. I have a bad motor, switch or other problems. Who do you recommend
A: We have many vendors now who carry this product. We will also have shops who can do the install and the repairs listed in your area shortly.
We will add more questions and answers as they come up.

AND NOW add the GBody Parts Anti-Rattle Window Kit for your Window Racer
1978-1988 G-Body - WINDOW RATTLE ELIMINATION KIT
The kit is designed to work on all 1978-1988 G-body two-door cars. May work on other but please check for your application.
You will have to use all 3 of your existing metal brackets and re-glue the new original GM window felt material (included in the kit) to them. The metal bracket is not included.
ONE kit will do ONE complete door. If you need to do both doors you will need 2 kits.
Over the years, Pete Serio has made various window adjustments on a large number of Buicks at various Buick events and at our location. He has an excellent working knowledge of these cars and their window spot weaknesses. He became known as the Window Rattle Guy. He designed this window rattle elimination kit back in 1999.
Kit is complete with all the parts you would need to eliminate rattle problems in the door, along with easy-to-follow directions. By making just a few minor modifications such as using screws in place of rivets making it user friendly. Installation of these items does require some mechanical ability, since you will have to remove the window completely from the door. We recommend however, this kit be installed by someone familiar with the inner workings of door windows.
