What we have here is a painstakingly hand finished medallion. Using an original NOS unit for the mold is how the part was re-created. The mold was then sharpened up to leave crisp clear lines like a factory unit. Hand paintedand detailed to correct colors like a factory GM unit. The finished product is very professional looking making it difficult to tell the original from the reproduction part.
After 25+ years, there have been over lays stuck to this medallion which once removed usually leaves scratches and glue marks. Just normal use on the horn from beeping and cleaning have left them scratched up. To find an original NOS horn pad is tough enough. While you can still find a few red "T" NOS units, they are much more expensive.
Your old unit can be removed from the horn padand this exact specked unit can be reinstalled to bring the wheel center back to life.
The wheel pictured is an 11,000 mile GN wheel. This is why we did a side by side comparison.
