We have designed the optimum OEM replacement suspension bushings that replace the stock rear control arm bushings. The factory bushings are extremely soft, and not acceptable for performance applications. Stiffer bushings will increase performance both in acceleration and handling. Extra gains can be found from not allowing the suspension to flex excessively and change their location/settings.
One type will be a custom bushing made to match our new control arms. This will be an OEM replacement type bushing, except that it will be stiffer than stock. It is designed to ride exceptionally well on the street, and perform exceptionally well at the track. It will also have the same custom modified inner steel spacer and Poly bushings that our new control arms have. The outer shell is also much thicker to reduce any unwanted flexing, and plated for rust prevention. The biggest improvement over other bushings currently available is that we added a lubrication system to ours, including a grease fitting. The grease enters an area between the two poly bushing inserts, and is directed to the inner spacer. Once there, the grease coats the inner spacer 360 degrees around, through several grooves in the poly bushings. This will eliminate any possible binding or squeaking, and allow quicker movement for improved performance. These custom bushings will allow enough flex for comfortable street driving, but also be stiff enough to perform under the most severe racing conditions.
Another goal was to have the best possible bushings in both the rear control arms and the top ears/brackets on the rearend housing. We accomplished this by making two slightly different designs, instead of a "one size fits all" design. They both have all of the great features mentioned above, but differ in the location of the grease fitting. The pair of bushings that get pressed into the top ears/brackets of the stock rearend (Part #0500), have the grease fitting shifted to one side for easy access. There is an internal grease groove that directs the grease to the center. The bushings that get pressed into the 3 ends of the stock rear control arms (Part #0501), have the grease fitting in the center for easy access. Part #0500 also includes a pair of special spacer rings that add stability once the upper control arm is attached to it.
#0500 - For replacing the PAIR of bushings in the top ears/brackets on the rearend.
#0501 - For replacing the PAIR of bushings in any ONE end of a pair of rear control arms.
#0502 - For replacing ALL bushings in the rear suspension - 4 pairs (one #0500/three #0501)
#0503 - For replacing bushings in the UPPER control arms - 2 pairs (one #0500/one #0501)
#0504 - For replacing bushings in the LOWER control arms - 2 pairs (two #0501)
