We had this built and waited a little bit to market. There are others out there that are just straight and not with the exact factory contour. Do they fit Yes but we noticed the end would not stay at the end after some driving.
We had these in the front of a vehicle in the hot sun to see if they would warp and twist and how they would hold up. Well after 3 months they did pretty well. The whole key was getting the rubber shape back like the original had. Making sure the groove is just slightly wider to lock into a 35 + year old dash without popping out the first time heat hits it. We may not always be the first to market due to testing bit we can usually claim we have the best on the market.
Our strip slides in nice and snug. To install properly on your 1978-87 Buick you need to remove the padded cluster surround. Slide you old peeling unit out if it hasnt already popped out. Clean your dash really well from any dust dirt or debris.
The you simply slide it in from the driver side to the passenger side. Congratulations your dash looked like it did 30+ years ago.
