The factory cam position sensor is a Hall effect switch that uses an interrupter ring with one window to determine camshaft position. The cam signal lets the ignition module know the positition of the number one and four pistons and when to start the firing sequence. If this signal is not present, the firing sequence will not start.
Over a period of time, the shaft begins to wear and this in turn affects performance and idle. In severe instances, it can also make a rattle noise when the engine is cold. These are very difficult to get from GM and very costly.
We were selling just good used cam sensors with out issues. We teamed up with Jason from Turbo Dojo who builds our Cam position Sensor balancing kits. Jason is world famous for rebuilding these units and he completely rebuilds the units. He uses the Pro series balancing kits ($55.00). The unit is completely disassembled. Fully cleaned and the inspected for any issues. Anything questionable is simply junked.
What you are getting is a better than factory Cam position sensor. It isn't cheap but we are going to give you options.
They work on 1984-87 Turbo Buick's and 1989 TTA's
This is a tested and guaranteed Rebuilt balanced better than new unit.
