This is the lower bottom ring. Discontinued from GM in 09 Price was $6.00 part # was 00560889. The part was plastic. We have developed an all aluminum ring to replace this part. Cost is $9.00. We could have done this in plastic but we improved on this part for a few reasons:
The plastic units always peeled the chrome on the base.
They commonly slipped down around your shifter rod.
The main problem with our shifters is that the internals crack & would also crack this ring.
The aluminum piece actually helps strengthen the shifter handle.
The part is just slightly tighter then the factory unit. This prevents it from falling down.we tested on new handle & fits perfect.
Pictured to the left is original new GM to the right our new aluminum ring.
Now this new aluminum ring we found can actually be used on handles that the lower plastic snapped or broke off. This can save the replacement & need for a new handle.
In about 2 weeks we will have the slider button that has been discontinued made in aluminum also.
With the lower ring, Aluminum slider button & our aluminum adjuster the handle should be a lot stronger then it was from the factory. This will extend the life of your shifter handle. We found that most of these units crack internally. We have 50 plus here to look at & examine where the problem areas are & why they failed.
The aluminum can be polished to an almost Chrome factory appearance.
