8.5" Posi Traction Clutch Rebuild Kits
We are now manufacturing Carbon Steel 8.5 Clutch Kits. As you may recall, production was discontinued back in 09. This kit improves upon & replaces GM part # 00231127.
This kit will only service the 8.5" 10 bolt Eaton style posi carriers. This is the type of posi used in the 86-87 GN/Turbo Regal and 85-87 Olds Cutlass 442, 84 Hurst Olds. Many other 8.5 GM Truck & car models. Please inquire first if you are not sure if this is the type of posi in your rear axle. 7.5 rears do not use these clutches.
This kit Includes all the clutch discs as shown in the picture. We also carry the S-spring and other parts to rebuild and repair your rear end.
These kits will work fit the followning:

This comprehensive kit is a direct replacement for GM Part Number 23-1127. As an upgrade over the GM Kits, our kits also include 12 shims:
2 of each in the following thickness: .010, .015, .020, .025, .030, and .035.

U.S. steel with U.S. tooling. All the metal has been tested for Rockwell hardness.
The results specs out the same as the factory. We went with the cross hatch surface pattern (like a Chevy 12 bolt clutch) instead of the fish eye pattern for two reasons:
Reason 1: The die to stamp the pattern was less costly which keeps the costs of the kits down
Reason 2: This pattern offers superior lubrication which will enhance the life of the clutches.
