These retainer clips help retain your bezel to the door panel. Each bezel requires 2 clips. These are a direct factory replacement for all GBody but also fit many GM vehicles from 1976 - 2002. Like anything else, over the years things break down and need replaced or have possibly failed. If you are having trouble keeping your swtiches in place, this may be your problem - why replace the entire switch when the retaining clip is giving you fits.
