These trim pieces are an exact replica of the factory. Easy install even for the do-it-yourselfer. The description actually lists them fitting 1987-1988 - I am sure it is just numbers reversed - because I have an '81 and they fit perfect. THANKS.
Possible Correction to description: My \'85 4-4-2 rear window reveal molding has similar pieces installed from the factory, but unlike the fronts having about 1/4\" extending past the inner edge of the metal molding, the rears have only a lip that ends under the edge of the molding. The factory most likely added them as an insulator to avoid any metal to glass contact. But just like the front moldings, my rear moldings only had these fins in the upper and side moldings, not the lower molding.
i have a 1980 2 door Malibu and im looking for all the weather strips and plastic trim for the outside. also the drip trim
1978-1988 GBody (All Models) Reproduction Windshield Trim Plastic seal weather strip - 3 Piece Kit Here is a part every GBody could use due to deterioration. Originally GM had a thin plastic trim molding that goes between the front windshield metal molding & glass. It went on both vertical side pieces and the Horizontal top trim. Without it there is a gap between the metal molding and the windshield. This allows rain & debris to get between the windshield & the trim. When this happens the molding clips speed up their deterioration. Then you have an expensive often hard to find piece of trim to replace. Personally I have lost the driver side & top piece trim at high speed. This is a reproduction of that plastic trim molding. You have to remove the original trim pieces in order to slide this into each molding. Once installed you no longer have to worry about debris getting behind your molding and causing rot or damages to your GBody. If you need to redo both the front and the back glass trim, you will need to purchase two kits. The material can easily be cut to size. Note: The rear never came with plastic trim but can be installed. So if your just worried about your trim coming loose or you are painting your GBody this is a perfect restoration piece.
You may also want to pick some of the retaining clips.
