We have sold literally 1000's of A/C Heat delete panels & cowl panels. We are always asked, "do you have just a Heat only system?" Yes, we would get a few in a year from vehicles we parted out but they were pretty fragile. You had to also run the under column vent controls and change out your HVAC unit to Heat only controls. It was a little bit of work to get the desired factory look. With this being said most of us just ripped out the HVAC box put a A/C Delete panel and a cowl panel back in. Finally, we ripped out the HVAC controls.
Once this was gone we forgot how nice it was to have a defrost. or a little heat in the later fall months. Well this is the best option out there. You get to save the weight and gain clearance by installing this G-Body AC Delete to heat only Cover. You can leave the existing HVAC controls. You can re-use the factory fan motor & install a heater core. We sell just the blank cover so you can install your fan.
For those of you that ripped it all out with a hammer and thought you would never go back don't worry we also sell a master kit. This kit gives you a new heater core, new fan, and 3M adhesive to seal your box to the fire wall.
Now the big question: How is the fit and what is this part made of? This is a black Gel coated fiberglass that is a vacuum formed mold. Made in USA and the fit is right on with your factory firewall holes. Everything bolts up just like your factory unit did.
