These brackets are designed to bolt directly into the seat slide bracket mounting studs of all G body cars. They are made out of .125 thick 5052-H32 aluminum for superior strength.
On our test car we reduced the weight of the car by 42 pounds by installing the Kirkey seats with our aluminum brackets. It would be even more if our test car had power seats. I have attached photos of them installed n the car.
These brackets have provisions to be bolted into the OEM studs (on the floor) in three different positions. Seats are mounted by bolting directly through the sides of these brackets. Bolting the aluminum seats through the side bolsters and seat bracket is the most effective way to mount an aluminum Kirkey seat. This method places the seat to the bracket in shear, which is the strongest way to mount the aluminum Kirkey seats.
The design allows for more position adjustability than the factory seat slides allow. For example the seat can be mounted further forward, rearward, lower, or higher than the factory seat.
For installation place the brackets into the car. Bolt them down. Then place the seat into the bracket. Determine if the seat brackets needs moved forward or rearward. Adjust if necessary. The seat can be moved all over, forward, rearward, up, down to get perfect positioning for the driver. Once that perfect position determined mark the location of the seat to the bracket. Remove everything. Then drill holes and bolt the seats to the brackets.
